Our Founder

Michael Coglianese is the founder and principal of Michael Coglianese CPA, P.C., providing audits, accounting, compliance consulting, and tax services to the alternative investment industry for more than three decades.

Before launching the firm, Michael served in the National Futures Association (NFA) Compliance Department, conducting compliance and financial audits, investigations, and financial analysis. That regulator-side perspective revealed a clear need: help alternative investment managers understand expectations, strengthen their processes, and walk into exams prepared—not guessing.

He founded Michael Coglianese CPA, P.C. to deliver that guidance at Big Four quality with boutique responsiveness. Michael has also served as an expert witness in NFA arbitration, CFTC proceedings, FINRA arbitration, and mediation.

Recognized as a leader in the field, Michael regularly participates on industry panels as a compliance, audit, and tax expert, including CFTC/NFA compliance forums alongside other specialists. He has been featured as a compliance expert on “The Money Show” and frequently appears as a guest speaker at major universities.
